1. primary and secondary diagnoses within 6 months
2. DMARD prescription within 6 months of the primary or secondary care diagnosis record 
3. visit to a rheumatology clinic within 6 months of the primary or secondary care diagnosis record
4. referral to a rheumatologist in the 6 months before the primary or secondary care diagnosis record
5. a positive rheumatoid factor test after the primary or secondary care diagnosis record
6.  a positive anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody test after the primary or secondary care diagnosis record
